Domaine du Haut Baran invites you to join us in a 6 day gastronomic adventure featuring cooking classes with Chef Jacques Ratier at his restaurant La Récréation as described in Michael S. Sanders book From Here,You Can't See Paris.

Join us for a week with Chef Ratier as we explore the culinary skills needed to prepare cuisine at La Récré and discover the wonderful regional dishes of the Quercy. Enjoy what you have created for lunch as Noelle explains the best wine to go with your dish.

 

 In Spring 2010 join us for a cooking session combining the talents of  Chef Jacques Ratier at his restaurant La Récréation in the tiny village of Les Arques with Cincinnati's own Chef Sean Daly ! March 1 - 6 , 2010 Sean will be joining Chef Ratier for a cooking extravaganza featuring Truffles !,cooking sessions at La Récréation,touring of local sites and great restaurants ! Truffle season is a special time of year so don't miss out ! We also have 2 regular spring cooking sessions with Chef Ratier and Chef Chouet !

March 1  - 6  , leaving March 7th  : cooking with Chef Sean Daly and Chef Ratier at La Récréation with truffles,truffles,truffles !

April  5   - 10 , leaving  April 11th  : cooking with  Chef Ratier at La Récréation and Chef Dany Chouet at Malcournet !

April  19 - 24 , leaving  April 25th : cooking with Chef Ratier at La Récréaction and Chef Dany Chouet at Malcournet !

Sample itinerary for the cooking workshops .

 Day 1  : Arrive Toulouse Airport / transfer to Haut Baran / relax and enjoy a welcoming dinner at Haut Baran
 Day 2  : Breakfast / cooking with Dany and lunch at Malcournet / dinner out
 Day 3  : Breakfast / cooking with Jacques, and lunch at La Recre / afternoon tour of castle / dinner out
 Day 4  : Breakfast / cooking with Jacques, and lunch at La Recre / relax this afternoon / dinner out
 Day 5  : Breakfast / farmers market and winery tour/ lunch at winery /afternoon preparing dinner with Cincinnati Chefs
 Day 6  : Breakfast / shopping and market in Cahors / lunch in Cahors / farewell dinner at Haut Baran

On Day 7 everyone  will be transfered to Toulouse airport for your connecting flight .

In April 2009, Marilyn Harris is coming back to La Récré  for two cooking sessions with Chef Jacques Ratier !

 Come cook with Cincinnati radio personality Marilyn Harris and Chef Jacques Ratier in southwest France April 2009.In 2006 we had the experience of a lifetime as Jacques and Noelle hosted cooking classes for Marilyn and her group at their restaurant La Récréation in the small village of Les Arques.Marilyn described the cooking classes with Jacques as some of the best she has ever experienced and in 2007 the Domaine du Haut Baran played host once again for those who  traveled to France with Marilyn.Two sessions will be offered in the spring of 2009 !

Session 1 : April 19th - April 24th , leave April 25th , 2009

Session 2 : April 25th - April 30th , leave May 1st   , 2009
